Under Construction |
Please bear with us as we continue to revamp and rebuild the Brookside Wiki.
Phase 1: Ensure every episode has a template page using official numbering (not the unofficial numbering shown on other websites), correct air date, writer, director and producer credits, a sort tag and basic categories. This phase is complete.
Phase 2: Populate every episode page with a cast list (accurate to the end credits as a minimum) and page links added to the basic synopsis to help us prioritise future pages. This phase is complete as of 14th March 2024.
Phase 3: Ensure every regular and recurring character has a page template containing basic information, including a tenure and total appearance count (collected during phase 2).
Following phase 3, we will come out of construction and work on building up the rest of the Brookside Wiki, including character biographies, episode summaries and the transfer of trivia and other interesting snippets which formed part of the Brookside Soapbox guides.
We are currently looking to expand our team. If you are interested in contributing in any way, please contact Sam or Daniel, or join our Discord server for a chat. Experience with Fandom and Wikis is not essential, but good knowledge of Brookside's history is a plus.
About Brookside Wiki |
Brookside Wiki was founded on 29th March 2014.
Brookside Wiki uses official production information for episode numbering. Unfortunately, many online resources had their databases populated by users with an unofficial episode guide as their original source, which contained incorrect numbering that did not match scripts or transmission slates. Other resources, including reputable websites, then replicated and reproduced this information assuming it was accurate. Sadly, this contagion effect means the episode numbers you see here may not match those used elsewhere online. We have provided a conversion table to alleviate any confusion here.
Where to Watch |

About Brookside |
Brookside was a soap opera devised by Phil Redmond and produced by his production company, Mersey Television. Brookside debuted on 2nd November 1982 as part of the Channel 4 launch day line-up. The show became one of the broadcaster's highest-rated shows. Brookside was noted for its realistic and socially-challenging storylines; however, by the 1990s, Brookside began exploring more controversial topics. Viewing figures began to decline in the early 2000s, and efforts to combat this failed, resulting in Channel 4 axing the show. After 2,932 episodes (plus numerous spin-offs and bonus episodes), the final episode of Brookside aired on 4th November 2003, almost exactly 21 years after the premiere.
