1995 was Brookside's fourteenth year of production.
Overview[]
Major storylines included Trevor Jordache's body discovery and the mysterious plague, resulting in the deaths of Garry Salter, George and Audrey Manners.
House by House[]
5 Brookside Close[]
Carl and Sarah unsuccessfully try to make another go of their marriage. Carl takes a job in Dubai.
6 Brookside Close[]
Audrey moves into the bungalow, and is shortly joined by her husband George, freshly returned from Kenya. Unknown to him, he is carrying a virus which sweeps across the Close, killing both him and Audrey as well as affecting several residents. Jean offers a home to Rachel, who is upset by Mandy's pregnancy. With their lottery winnings, Jean and David argue about where to go on holiday, and eventually go their separate ways.
7 Brookside Close[]
Patricia takes over the florist, and it becomes The Gift Box. Susannah returns from the US and Max buys Barry out of Grants with money borrowed from David.
8 Brookside Close[]
DD sells the florists and leaves the Close. Bev moves in and the house is re-christened as 'Casa Bevron'. Ron Dixon develops angina, and suffers a minor heart attack.
9 Brookside Close[]
Rosie finds out she is pregnant, but loses the baby. During the resultant emergency operation, Eddie gives consent for the hospital to perform a hysterectomy. Rosie is furious and starts legal proceedings against the hospital. When the Banks' lottery syndicate with the Crosbies turns up a £100,000 win there is a dispute over the cash. Rosie becomes addicted to gambling, and loses the winnings, resorting to stealing from Grants restaurant to feed her habit.
10 Brookside Close[]
The patio causes water to flood the Banks' garden, who insist on digging it up. The Jordaches flee to Ireland where Rachel finds out what really happened to her father. They are apprehended and go to trial where Rachel denies that her father abused her, and Mandy (now pregnant by Sinbad) and Beth are found guilty. David Crosbie starts a campaign to 'Free The Jordache Two'. Rachel is persuaded to testify truthfully about her father, however Beth dies on the morning of the appeal from a genetic heart condition. Mandy is freed but Brenna secretly tries to poison her. Mandy gives birth to daughter Ruth in October and moves to Bristol to work in a refuge. Jimmy buys No. 10, and the Corkhills move in. He starts a taxi business but it's actually a cover for drug dealing.
Brookside Parade[]
Leo's teacher, Jenny Swift, becomes obsessed with Mick who has to resort to legal action to keep her away. Becoming desperate, she threatens suicide, and then holds Mick at gunpoint. Finally she is sentenced to three years in prison. Mick and Sinbad decide to make a fresh start in No. 5. Jacqui opens Jacqui D's Style House with Peter Phelan, whilst Katie develops and eating disorder.
